1. True or False: The terms Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) and Enterprise Buyer (EBP) are the same, and can be used interchangeably.
a) True
b) False
ANSWER(S): B
SRM and EBP are often used interchangeably, but they are not the same. Enterprise Buyer (EBP) is a component within the mySAP SRM solution.
SAP launched its e-Procurement solution in 1999 with B2B Procurement 1.0., later branded as Enterprise Buyer Professional (EBP). It started off as just a catalog-based Employee Self Service tool and evolved into a robust eProcurement solution. In 2003 SAP launched SRM, Supplier Relationship Management, which not only provided an eProcurement solution but also added a supplier collaboration engine. Since then mySAP SRM has become a best of breed multi-purpose solution. Today mySAP SRM focuses on the core supply processes of procurement, sourcing, contract management, and supplier enablement.
