Xansa, a business consulting, information technology and outsourcing firm in New York, has been named a SAP 'Partner of Excellence' for the third consecutive year. Each year four of SAP's 39 partners are nominated for the award. Xansa has been a SAP consulting partner for more than 12 years.

PeopleSsoft sells new financials

PeopleSoft Inc., Pleasanton, Calif., is now selling its PeopleSoft Financials 8.4, a new release of Internet applications. The applications are designed to provide cost controls, including alerts that inform line managers when costs exceed pre-set targets and embedded analytics for instant insight to financial data allowing every employee to be aware of financial objectives and how they fit with the business's overall financial goals, the company said.,/p>

Spectra updated

GE Engine Services, Chicago, a subsidiary of GE Aircraft Engines, and IFS, a business applications provider in Linkoping, Sweden, have released a new version of Spectra. The updated product is designed to greatly increase aircraft availability and reduce airplane on ground time. It operates as an Internet- and Windows-based platform offering visibility into business and maintenance operations for both airlines and maintenance, repair, and overhaul facilities.

Mongoose updates portal product

Mongoose Technology Inc., a provider of enterprise portal products, Houston, has created the third version of its Mongoose PortalStudio. It includes an integrated development environment to design, assemble, deploy and manage portals and Web services, the PortalStudio Framework, a vendor-neutral portal run-time platform for integrating applications on leading J2EE application servers, and the PortalStudio Library of reusable portlets, connectors, skins and collaborative Web services.

LTC offers new SAP training

Luttrell Training and Consulting, Dallas, Texas, has designed a new line of SAP software training classes. The SAP tool training was developed from an end-user perspective for a deeper understanding of specific transactions and greater insight into the capabilities of those transactions, LTC said. Course offerings average $50 per hour and range from four to 16 hours.
