OASIS group works on standard file format

OASIS members have set up a committee to set a standard file format, to be called the localization interchange file format (XLIFF.) XLIFF will allow any software maker to produce a single interchange format that can be delivered to and understood by any localization service provider. Members of the OASIS XLIFF Technical Committee include consortium sponsors, Commerce One, Hewlett-Packard Co. IBM, Novell, Oracle, SAP, Sun Microsystems, Xerox, and other OASIS members.

Dimension consulting launches Rec-Trac

Dimension Consulting Inc., Colorado Springs, Colo., has launched Rec-Trac, an integrated audit trail program that documents changes that are made to SAP systems and transactions. It also includes automated change management, transports and authorization levels.

Accelio updates Present Output Pak

Accelio Corp., Ottowa, Ontario, a provider of Web-enabled business process software, has released a new version of Accelio Present Output Pak for e-business software. It creates customer-facing documents. New features include improved archiving integration with EASY Software's EASY Archive, a document archiving product, the company said.

Business software trends

SAP's new supplier relationship management product for its mySAP e-business software is setting a trend, said Ovum, an analyst and consulting firm in London, which issued a new report on business software trends, "E-business Software: Trends and Opportunities." Business application suites at first provided inventory management for the manufacturing but during the last decade pulled functional domains such supply chain management into the suites. Now the focus has moved onto integration across functions, supporting end-to-end processes from supplier to customer.

Tyre joins BlueStar

BlueStar Solutions, Cupertino, Calif., a provider of business application outsourcing services, has named Norton Tyre vice president of sales for public services. Tyre was formerly vice president of public services customer relationship management sales and vice president of state and local government sales for SAP America and held executive positions at Informix and J.D. Edwards.
