A billing and customer relationship management conference is planned for Paris in November and two consulting firms have been cited for their CRM services.

Billing and CRM event planned

PBI Media's Billing & CRM event will be at the Palais des Congres in Paris Nov. 19 to 22. The conference will bring together telecoms operators, vendors and industry observers from around the world to discuss the future of billing and customer relationship management and will include a strategic summit on wholesale billing. Professor Ian Angell, IT guru who holds the chair of information science at the London School of Economics, Ian Pearson, futurologist at BT and Chris Tchen, European director of strategy are among the speakers.

Abibia cited for CRM

International Data Corporation's report, "Positioning for Success: Competitive Analysis and Profiles of CRM Services Leaders and Innovators, 2001" cites Akibia Consulting for its customer relationship management services. Companies were selected based on overall revenue, thought leadership, innovation and potential in the CRM service market. Akibia is in Boston, Mass.

Deloitte's CRM services backed

Gartner Inc., a research and advisory firm, has listed Deloitte Consulting, New York, as an external service provider leader for its customer relationship management services. It was one of four out of 25 firms listed in Gartner's "leader's quadrant." This is the third listing Deloitte has received from Gartner in the past year.

SAP raises money for Red Cross

SAP and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Corp., Indianapolis, have combined forces to help raise money for the American Red Cross at this weekend's second annual running of the SAP United States Grand Prix. The event is expected to draw more than 175,000 fans. It will be broadcast on ABC television Sunday at 1 p.m. SAP has announced that it will donate $3 million to various funds for victims of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.

OpenViz to be used in PeopleSoft software

Advanced Visual Systems' OpenViz data visualization technology will be incorporated into PeopleSoft's Enterprise Performance Management business analytics. This will allow interactive two dimensional and three dimensional graphical presentations of business data drawn from an array of sources, the company said. Advanced Visual Systems is in Waltham, Mass.
