SAP SI America signs two large customers
Heidelberg Web Systems LLC, an international producer of Web offset printing presses, newspaper mailroom and publication bindery equipment based in Heidelberg, Germany, and the Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD), have chosen SAP Systems Integration America LLC (SAP SI America) as their implementation partner. Heidelberg Web Systems will use Atlanta-based SAP SI America to implement mySAP.com. LACCD will use SAP SI America to install SAP software for more than 750 users, enhancing financials, asset management, funds management, project systems and materials management processes.
SAPMarkets better enables suppliers with new partners
Chicago-based W.W. Grainger Inc., Houston's Compaq Computer Corp., Chicago's Newark Electronics, West Chester, Pa.-based VWR International Inc., El Segundo, Calif.-based SupplyAccess Inc. and Structured Content, a unit of Hearst Business Media, are new partners in Palo Alto, Calif.-based SAPMarkets Inc.'s Open Content Network. The Open Content Network reduces costs associated with catalog integration, formatting and translation. At the same time, it delivers catalog content and content services directly to exchanges and buyers.
Mercury Interactive expands SAP support
Sunnyville, Calif.-based Mercury Interactive Corp. has expanded its support for SAP software to include testing and application performance management for mySAP.com. Mercury Interactive is rolling out customized versions of QuickTest Professional, LoadRunner and Topaz, which will allow customers to test and monitor the performance of their R/3 and mySAP implementations. This will guarantee a smooth roll out and deliver positive user experiences, the company said. Eastman Chemical Co. already uses Mercury Interactive's testing software.
Actional provides Reliant Energy with access to shared services
Houston-based Reliant Energy has deployed Actional Control Brokers (ACBs) from Mountain View, Calif.-based Actional Corp. This will integrate Reliant's CommerceOne BuySite-based supply chain management system with SAP R/3. Reliant turned to Actional when it joined Pantellos, an independent online marketplace for the utility and energy services industries and was implementing an e-procurement system which needed to be integrated with SAP R/3.
Intermec provides wireless backbone to SAP Global Solution Center
Everett, Wash.-based Intermec Technologies Corp. has been selected to provide wireless backbone capabilities to the new SAP Global Solution Center, a development project and education center at SAP Americas headquarters in Newtown Square, Pa. Intermec handheld, pen-based and mobile computers also are among the products included in the Center. The Intermec MobileLAN wireless system installed at the Center provides the WLAN (wireless local area network) backbone. In addition, MobileLAN power, a member of the MobileLAN family, provides electrical power to the wireless LAN access points over a standard Category 5 Ethernet cable.
