Brother selects SAP for e-business solutions

SAP AG has announced that office products maker Brother International Corp. has selected as the e-business platform for its operations in the Americas.

Brother International will extend its SAP R/3 system with a suite of e-business solutions to streamline operating processes and information flow, including the mySAP customer relationship management (CRM) customer interaction center and marketing functionality to enhance customer service and sales, according to SAP.

MySAP CRM will provide Brother's sales, customer service and management personnel with access to customer information and market knowledge to enable them to interpret, meet and anticipate customer needs, says SAP.

Name change for SAP Public Sector and Education

SAP Public Sector and Education, Inc. a subsidiary of SAP America, Inc, has changed its name to SAP Public Services, Inc. The move comes in order to reflect the company's commitment to providing e-business solutions to all public service markets including education; federal, state, and local government; utilities and healthcare.

The Washington, D.C.-based SAP Public Services has 200 employees.

New version of BugsEye sets sights on SAP

Westminister, Colo.-based Requisite Technology, Inc., is making available BugsEye 3.0, the company's patented finding engine, and the eMerge 3.0, its catalog content management system. Requisite's Unifying Structure (RUS) -- the company's standard for organizing catalog content -- bundled with its content creation services, and the BugsEye and eMerge products provide customers with a platform optimized for the creation, organization and finding of commerce-quality content on the Web, the company said.

The BugsEye software is embedded in or can be integrated with leading e-commerce platforms such as Oracle, SAP, and Ariba.

NetProcess shipped for SAP R/3

IntelliCorp, Inc., a Mountain View, Calif.-based provider of e-business and eCRM solutions, is now shipping its NetProcess infrastructure software for end-to-end business process capture, documentation, monitoring, analysis, control and optimization. NetProcess is a Web-based software system that serves as an infrastructure backbone for applying business process management both to specific, mission critical projects and to ongoing operations.

Initially designed for companies that are running SAP R/3 and in the back office, the NetProcess infrastructure software contains detailed R/3 process information.

SAP integrator Spearheads security software

Computer Associates International, Inc. has announced that Spearhead Systems Consultants Ltd., a full-service IT solutions and integrated business systems consulting firm, has deployed CA's eTrust Firewall software to maintain the integrity of its distributed e-business environment. The CA solution is makes sure only authorized users have access to mission-critical applications and keeping out corporate network hackers.

Spearhead specializes in the implementation of effective IT and SAP-centric business process solutions for clients across the U.S.

Compaq releases SAP benchmarks

Compaq Computer Corporation has announced its Compaq AlphaServer GS series achieved world record results on the SAP Business Information Warehouse Version 2.0 B benchmark. In every measurement captured in the SAP BW benchmark suite, the AlphaServer GS dramatically outperformed previously published BW numbers, the company said.

This new performance milestone demonstrates the speed and scalability of the AlphaServers for customers running high-intensity CRM and business intelligence applications solutions such as SAP's BW. The goal of SAP BW is to free the information locked up in a myriad of computer systems and operational databases, and to mix it with information from other, often external, sources of data.
