SAP HANA App Center

SAP HANA App Center is a cloud-based service that connects buyers and sellers to applications that were developed on SAP’s HANA in-memory database platform. Built on the hybris omni-channel commerce platform from SAP subsidiary hybris Software, the SAP HANA App Center allows partners to showcase their solutions that are built on HANA, the HANA Cloud Platform and HANA Cloud Platform Mobile Services.  Any application built on these technologies is welcome on the App Center, including free apps, paid apps, and codeshare applications. Certification by SAP is not required to be listed on the site.

The service was launched in March 2014 as SAP HANA Marketplace and renamed SAP HANA App Center in April 2015.

Designed to run as simply as possible, the HANA App Center is similar to consumer product sites in look and feel, search, and mobile capabilities. Users can search out and purchase applications or try them before buying. There are a number of ways to purchase, including annual or monthly subscriptions.  More than 100 applications are available, representing 12 lines of business and more than 30 industries. About half of the applications are from SAP, while the rest range from established companies, such as Accenture, to startups, such as Enterprise Jungle.

The marketplace is also designed to be simple for partners to make their applications available under a three-step process: registering as a partner, uploading merchandise and supporting material, and launching the app. Publishers can manage their apps through a self-service portal.
