We are currently upgrading to 4.6. One of the tasks on our TO DO list is to replace as many as possible BDCs with...
BAPIs. There reason for this is that BDCs are dependant on the screen layout, BAPIs are not, and BAPIs make future upgrades easier. Replacing Call Transactions with BAPIs is easy, but when we have large input streams that currently generate a batch BDC session, I can't find how to do similar processing with BAPIs. For instance, I want to create a program that creates lots of internal orders. Coding the BAPI to do this is easy. How do I make it run in batch, store rejected internal orders and allow me to process those later, etc. Can you help?
The BAPI would have to take care of all this. Writing a BAPI with all this functionality might be non-trivial, though. Maybe SAP Business Workflow could be used?
