I want to redirect the employee leave work item if it sits in the manager's inbox for 72 hours (like if the manager is on leave). It must go to the manager's superior. To do this, do I define a new task? Please help.
There are really a few possible ways to do this:
1. You could use substitution. This means that when the manager goes on leave, he can set up his superior as a substitute. This means that the superior can now view the Workflows that he has been set up as a substitute for. This doesn't really meet your requirements fully because the Superior will see the Workflow(s) immediately and not after 72 hours.
2. Alternatively you would set a deadline on the task with a requested start of Work Item Creation Date + 72 hours (make sure you take into account Business Days if required). When the deadline expires you can remove the Work Item from their Inbox and sent it to their superior (hint : you can use role 00000157 or 00000168 to determine the superior)
