In most cases, yes!
The IDoc database has a tendency to be a Write-Only-Memory device. Once written the data is not accessed ever again. In nearly most cases it is safe to delete IDoc that come from an ALE scenario (like BW) as soon as they are sent out or processed successfully. I generally keep IDocs only when they have been sent to an outside partner, like legally valid invoices, payment advice, order confirmations, when it is mandatory or simply wise to keep a proof of when, what and whereto certain data has been dispatched. In all other cases, the IDocs simply eats up expensive data space.
