What are the important steps for implementing SAP ECC, as compared to earlier versions?

There are many things to consider when implementing an ERP package. It all depends on the business scenarios in use. The best starting point would be the ECC Master Guide, which explains the different implementation options. It is available for download at http://service.sap.com/erp.
