We are implementing the "sales cycle" management (leads, opportunities and business activities). The users like to manage all the documents associated with the transactions. How can we implement document management in CRM (except the regular attachment)?
The answer is based on the assumption that your SAP CRM system release is 3.1 or 4.0. Looks like you need to install and implement CRM content management. Content management is part of the WAS6.20 server.
The caveat is content management documents are not available during the transfer of business transactions (e.g. Sales orders) to R/3 back-end system if you have an integrated system landscape.
Go to IMG -> Customer Relationship management -> Basic functions -> Content management for various configuration steps associated with Content management.
