Enabling .Net to communicate with SAP

We have a web application (.Net) and would like to access SAP (Web-to-SAP Interface) for all Web requests (retrieving information as well as creating Sales Order in SAP). What do we need/must have to enable for the Web (.Net) communicate to SAP?

I really appreciate your advice.

SAP has a product called the SAP .NET Connector (which can be downloaded from http://service.sap.com/connectors). This connector allows you to develop applications that invoke SAP BAPIs and other RFMs (RFC-enabled Function Modules). If the documentation that comes with the connector is not sufficient for you, take a look at my article "SAP .NET Connector for C# Programmers", published by the SAP Professional Journal.
