Define a printer to print a batch report only if there is data

Learn how to define a batch report to print only if there is data to print. Application development expert Matt Billingham describes how.

I am looking for a way to print a batch report only if there is data to print. If no data is selected in the report, then nothing would be printed.
The best way is to make sure that the spool file is empty when the job is run, by not writing anything to the list -- i.e., if you were to run it online, the report wouldn't appear to leave the selection screen.
