I have 5 years of experience as a SAP Basis admin and I stopped for 2 years. Right now I am taking up system analysis and design. Is it possible for for me to be a business stystem analyst spefically for SAP with my previous experience? Thanks.
Sure, it is possible for you to carve out such a role. It's not clear to me from your question whether you actually have a job offer in hand. I need a little more info before I can really help you much. If you don't have an actual job offer, then the answer is: I don't know. You should really apply for some jobs online and see how you do. But remember, you are not just looking for one job, you are trying to get a sense of overall demand. I would say even if you get one good job offer, if that is the only "bite" you get, that might not represent enough interest to be confident in such a niche. A business system analyst is a niche type of role. Frankly, I would be more confident if you were to build on your Basis background and maybe get some NetWeaver system administration experience. But if you're going to pursue the business analyst role, just remember that more business acumen and training might be needed. Some type of MBA program, especially one with an Information Systems specialty, might give your new direction some "teeth" and help you to land appealing positions.
