BDCs still have their place in conversions

I found this function: HR_MAINTAIN_MASTERDATA. (It probably uses BDC as well but I am not creating it. SAP is.) Is this my only alternative? I could not find a BAPI that will load all the infotypes I need. We are on a 4.7 system.

I need to create an interface by reading a file then enter the data into HR. I need to load infotypes 0000, 0001, 0002, 0007 and 0008. I am trying to stay away from using BDC since these are no longer supported, apparently. I found this function: HR_MAINTAIN_MASTERDATA. (It probably uses BDC as well but I am not creating it. BDCs are no longer supported? I think you have some bad information, as I'm using a pre-release SAP accelerator at my current client for conversions and they use BDCs like always. I can't imagine them going away -- they most certainly have their place. That said, I cannot see what the downside of using a BDC at this time. I guess it depends on what you are trying to accomplish and in your particular case it is less reasonable to use a BDC. If you decide to do so you can build an action. It looks like you are trying to do a transfer, org change or rehire based on the infotypes you have listed. You can also use function module HR_INFOTYPE_OPERATION.
