Through ESS employess can apply for leave which triggers a workflow to their line manager for approval. If the...
line manager is not available the request is not handled and just sits in the workflow inbox. If the line manager absence is unexpected they will not have set up a substitution. (This also happens when the line manager forgets to set this up before they go on leave.)
At the moment we have to log into the line managers account and manually set up the substitution. There are issues of data protection and so is becoming a great problem.
Is there a way of setting up the workflow to automatically forward the request to another workflow inbox after 72 hours and without the need for any manual intervention?
You should be able to maintain substitution via HRUS_D2. An administrator can use SM30 on this table to set up the substitution if the manager is unexpectedly absent. Furthermore, depending on how you are using the HR organizational model and workflow you can also set up substitution in the HR organizational model.(Infotype 210).
