On January 31, 2001 a tier-2 SAP SD Standard Application Benchmark was attained with IBM DB2 as the database on the Dell PowerEdge 8450. Dell is the first vendor delivering more than 300 users on a central server with SAP R/3 release 4.6C. This is the first SAP benchmark that uses commercial software with the new Linux kernel 2.4. The processor-by-processor scalability of 72 percent, in comparison to the previously highest rated 4-way system processor, shows the high performance of the Dell PowerEdge 8450. |
