SAP TechEd 2012: Big data and SAP HANA driving encryption, says one attendee

SAP points out that its HANA in-memory platform was created in large part to address the challenge companies have of dealing with massive amounts of data, both structured and unstructured.

There's another side to "big data," according to Scott Elder, a technology solutions architect with Encryptics, a maker of encryption software based in Frisco, Texas. Holding and keeping more information often means a growth in the amount of sensitive information. As a result, more companies need to consider encryption when processing data -- along with technologies like SAP HANA.
