SAP business information warehouse
The SAP business data warehouse architecture consists of SAP Netweaver Business Intelligence (SAP BI), the new name of the BI, analytical, reporting and data warehousing enterprise software application once known as SAP BIW (Business Information Warehouse) or SAP BW. SAP BI includes components for data management (Data Warehousing Workbench) and data modeling, an embedded analytical engine, a suite of front-end analytical tools called Business Explorer (BEx), reporting features, and Extraction, Transformation and Load (ETL) tools for extracting data from a specific source, applying transformation rules, and loading it into SAP BW system. The data warehouse area is for storing the information in various types of structures (e.g. Data Store Objects, InfoObjects and multidimensional structures called InfoCubes).
