View a transport object list before import

You are given a transport to bring into your system but are unsure of its contents. You do not want to import it and risk corrupting your system without knowing its contents.

To view the object list of the transport, without actually having to import the request first, do the following:

  1. cd /usr/sap/trans/bin
  2. tp addtobuffer <transport> <sid>
  3. tp cmd <transport> <sid> client<no>
  4. Log into R/3, and go to transaction SE01, and check the transport's contents.
