Ping user terminals

You can use transaction OS06 to ping a terminal to identify any communication problems. Here's how.

Using Kevin Towert's tip of 12 May 2003 to identify a users terminal, you can use transaction OS06 to ping a terminal to identify any communication problems. Choose the "Detail analysis menu" button on the first screen of OS06. Then choose the "LAN Check by Ping" button, followed by the "Presentation server" button. There you will find several option buttons sorting, selecting and pinging. You can search by using the System > List > Find to locate the terminal ID or IP address in R/3 3.1I and older. R/3 4.5B and later have the search icon enabled.
