Local data field history

This will help you quickly re-enter previously used data in fields by keeping a local history for most of the fields that you usually use.

Preliminaries: This will help you quickly re-enter previously used data in fields by keeping a local history for...

most of the fields that you usually use. 1. Start the SAPDEV Menu and select the SAP Client you need to have the local field history for. 2. If editing the Client details is enabled, then please go to step 5. 3. Click on the left upper corner of the SAPDEV window and choose Options. 4. Uncheck the following option or make sure that the following option is unchecked: "Disable editing functionality", then click the OK button. 5. Click on the Properties button. 6. Click on the Advanced button. 7. Uncheck the following option or make sure that the following option is unchecked: "Low Speed Connection" 8. Click the OK buttons all the way out. 9. Logout of any SAP sessions and then log in. 10. If your PC gets automatically updated with new version of SAPDEV, then these setting explained above will be overwritten, so you may need to re-do them again. Alternatively, if this won't hurt your system, you may make this file read-only, so it will not be overwritten. To get Drop Boxes of your own local data, please follow the following steps: 1. First, a reminder: The drop boxes do not apply to all and every field, but for the most used fields. They will appear only on fields that you used before, meaning that you will see the drop boxes after the first time you used the field. 2. From the main menu, click on the right most icon of the icon bar, it is called "Customizing of local layout", alternatively, you can press the "Alt + F12" keys together. 3. Select the first line of the list you get "Options" and click it. 4. Click the tab called "Local Data" 5. Make sure that the "On" or "Immediately" radio button is selected, and the path (at the bottom of the screen) to the "Directory for local data" is correct and valid (exists) on your workstation. If you are using Windows NT operating system, the directory should sound like this: C:WINNTProfiles * The "Immediately" radio button enables the field local history to appear automatically as soon as the cursor reaches the field. * The "On" radio button enables the field local history to appear when the cursor reaches the field and user presses the Backspace button or the first letter of a pre-used or pre-entered value for that field. 6. Then click on the "Apply" button followed by the "OK" button. 7. Collecting and saving the history for each field will start after the settings, meaning after you manually enter values in each field for the first time.
