Sometimes it's necessary for testing to have a specific piece of data in an SAP table that doesn't have SM30 table maintenance.

To work around this inconvenience use transaction code SE16, and select the appropriate table. Select the relevant records and then execute. Double click on the individual record you wish to alter and once you're in Single Record view, type '/h' in the command field to select debug mode. Press enter a second time to actually enter debug mode.

You will immediately see an IF statement reading: IF code = 'SHOW'. Double Click on the word 'code' to add it to the field names list at the bottom of the debug screen. If you wish to alter the existing record type 'EDIT' in the adjoining field contents block. Click the Pencil to establish the change and then hit [F8] to continue. You will now be in Table Edit mode. If you wish to delete a record, type 'DELE' instead of 'EDIT'. If you wish to add a record, type 'INSR' instead of 'EDIT'. If you wish to edit the record including the keys, type 'ANVO'.

Once you've made the changes you want, select the save button to retain them.
