The Self Service Scenario does not require XI or the Live Auction Cockpit as mandatory technical components. SAP XI is only required if XML-based communication/integration is required (e.g., CCM material master replication from SAP R/3 to SAP EBP to SAP CCM). The Live Auction Cockpit is also not a mandatory component for the Self Service Scenario.
According to the SRM 5.0 Component matrix published by SAP, the CCM component is a required install. However, organizations that choose not to utilize the CCM solution would have the option of not configuring CCM.
