15. Restricting characteristics in a query definition

15. Characteristics found in a query definition can be restricted by:

a) Opening the administrator workbench
b) Changing the query properties within the query designer
c) Double-clicking on the characteristic in the query definition
d) Creating a calculated key figure

ANSWER(S): C

Characteristic values can be selected by double-clicking on the characteristic found in the query definition or by right-clicking on the characteristic and choosing restrict from the context menu. A selection menu returns all the values found for the characteristic and lets the user include or exclude single value(s) or range(s). A restriction can also be made dynamic by using variables which allows a report consumer to dynamically select their restrictions at runtime.
