MassMutual's NetWeaver director outlines SAP prototyping tips
LAS VEGAS -- Making the transition from older SAP technology to NetWeaver and Java-based development isn't easy. It requires many resources, a solid prototyping effort and lots of time. Justin Burmeister, the director of SAP NetWeaver administration at Springfield, Mass.-based MassMutual Financial Group, has been through many SAP projects and now counts 14 developers on his SAP team.
Burmeister presented on MassMutual's SAP projects at TechEd, with a special focus on the preparation required before programming even starts. SearchSAP.com caught up with him to discuss some of the finer points of managing SAP projects in a large IT organization, including a reason not to upgrade to NetWeaver.
