 In this podcast, news editor Robert Westervelt interviews SAP's Roman Bukary about the SAP Business Intelligence Accelerator, an appliance that SAP says will boost query performance. The device was launched at the Sapphire '06 user conference in Orlando, Fla. It was developed in conjunction with HP, IBM, and Intel and is aimed at SAP's largest customers. The box can be plugged into NetWeaver to speed high volumes of queries from end users of SAP NetWeaver BI. The device works in conjunction with SAP Business Warehouse, Bukary said. Most of the features in SAP BI accelerator, such as search indexes and column-based data structures, are not new, but SAP has packaged them together into an appliance that integrates with NetWeaver.
