UDDI4J gains support
Hewlett-Packard, Palo Alto, Calif., IBM, Somers, N.Y. and SAP, Walldorf, Germany, are supporting UDDI4J, an open-source Java class library that supplies an application-programming interface for interacting with Universal Description Discovery and Integration registries. UDDI4J provides Java developers a common API for programmatically registering services and for querying and accessing information in UDDI-based registries. The agreement benefits the Web services industry by reducing hurdles associated with creating Web services tools, the companies said.

Niku SRM product integrated with SAP
Niku Corp., Redwood, Calif., a provider of services relationship management software, has developed detailed integration mapping between its Niku SRM product and SAP. To support the integration between Niku 6 and SAP, Niku developed XML Open Gateway, (a SOAP/XML based protocol, architecture to facilitate point-to-point, application-to-application integration. The company also supports SAP's recent adoption of Universal Description, Discovery and Integration Business Registry as a platform for integrating application services.

PeopleSoft, San Jose, Calif., was ranked highest in unaided brand awareness among mid-market companies for its pure Internet customer relationship management solution, concluded a study by Survey.com, an online research company. The online study researched the needs and opinions of decision makers at companies with annual revenue between $50 and $500 million. PeopleSoft 8 CRM was the leading response, PeopleSoft said.
