Head of SAP Professional Services Organization hired
SAP America, Newtown Square, Pa., American subsidiary of SAP AG, has appointed M. Scott Reed vice president in charge of the SAP Professional Services Organization. He will oversee the SAP consultant work force in the United States, managing efforts with SAP partner companies on software implementation projects. Reed is a 19-year veteran of Grant Thornton LLP, a Chicago company with international accounting and consulting operations, where he was chief financial officer, a member of the senior management team and managing partner.

Business Objects selling product for SAP Portals
Business Objects, San Jose, Calif., a provider of business intelligence products, is selling the BusinessObjects Portal Integration Kit for SAP Portals. The PIK combines BusinessObjects InfoView with SAP Portals Inc.'s enterprise portal products. The integration delivers business intelligence content to the SAP Portal and lets users drag and relate data from Business Objects to applications in the portal, the company said.
CommerceRoute releases integration appliance for SAP
CommerceRoute Inc., Emeryville, Calif., an integration appliances company, has released its Syncx 6150 -- the first integration appliance able to interface directly with SAP systems. The Syncx 6150 provides a way to access and share SAP information and processes externally with customers and suppliers, or internally with other applications, databases or systems. It costs $75,000.

Docent releases product
Docent Inc., Mountain View, Calif., an e-learning software company, released the Docent Enterprise Connector, a connectivity product designed to accelerate, simplify and standardize the synchronization of Docent Learning Management Servers with business data to and from enterprise applications and systems across the organization. It provides connectivity between Docent Enterprise and SAP R/3.
