Merck chooses R/3 testing tools for quality assurance, project documentation

Darmstadt, Germany-based chemical and pharmaceutical organization Merck KGaA used three tools, WinRunner-QuickTest for R/3, LoadRunner for R/3 and TestDirector from Mercury Interactive for its SAP R/3 migration. Each tool from the Sunnyvale, Calif.-based company was used to assure R/3 system functionality and provide test documentation throughout the entire project. Due to the strict regulations in the drug industry regarding changes to technical infrastructure, documentation was critical.

Network Associates implements SAP R/3

Santa Clara, Calif.-based Network Associates Inc. became the latest to hop on the SAP bandwagon with its implementation of SAP R/3 ERP software. Network Associates used Edison, N.J.-based Intelligroup Inc. to customize and integrate the software to its sales and distribution, finance, and logistics business processes.

SAP America names R. Anthony Yocham to lead business consulting practice

Newtown Square, Pa.-based SAP America Inc. has named R. Anthony Yocham vice president in charge of the company's newly formed business consulting practice. In this role, Yocham will oversee an SAP team that will provide information technology consulting. He will report to Richard Stewart, senior vice president of SAP America.

SAP Portals a leader in Portal Products Magic Quadrant

San Jose, Calif.-based SAP Portals Inc. has been listed as a leader for its completeness of vision and ability to execute among vendors in the 2001 Portal Products Magic Quadrant. In the report prepared by Stamford, Conn.-based Gartner Inc., SAP Portals is listed as the leader of the quadrant in the portal product market due to the combination of visionary technology and the strong financial backing and customer base of SAP, the analyst said.
