Hummingbird EIP selected for SAP integration by leading UK - petroleum refiner Conoco Limited
Conoco Ltd. has bought the Hummingbird Enterprise Information Portal (EIP) from Hummingbird Ltd. to be integrated with SAP's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system at Conoco's Humber refinery in North Lincolnshire, U.K.
The integrated system will manage engineering data flow and refinery plant control. Conoco, a petroleum refiner and marketing subsidiary of Conoco Inc., plans to extend the solution throughout Europe later this year.
Cad-Capture Ltd., a Hummingbird partner, will install and customize the system which will allow authorized users to retrieve and share information on all major process equipment.
Tealeaf Technology and SAP partner to deliver 360-degree view of customers
SAP AG and Tealeaf Technology announced a new OEM partnership at SAP's Sapphire Lisbon 2001 conference. The pact makes TeaLeaf a SAP development partner and will create a solution in mySAP Business Intelligence to gain a 360-degree view of customers. Under the agreement, SAP will offer TeaLeaf's TeaCommerce Platform in mySAP Business Intelligence, allowing users to record and improve online customer interactions, track and strengthen site performance and increase return on Web site investments. TeaCommerce provides an open platform for recording and storing complete online customer interactions in a single, searchable knowledge base.
Microsoft and Unisys deliver performance and value for SAP customers
Microsoft Corp. and Unisys Corp. have announced that a Unisys ES7000 system running Microsoft Windows 2000 Datacenter Server and SQL Server 2000 Enterprise Edition has reached a record-setting performance level on the mySAP.com Sales and Distribution (SD) Standard Application Benchmark on the Windows platform: 18,500 concurrent SD Benchmark users.
This result -- on a 32-bit processor, 32-bit Uniyx ES7000 -- is the third highest performance rating ever for the SAP SD Standard Application Benchmark.
The benchmark was conducted at the Unixyx performance laboratory in Mission Viejo, Calif., and was certified by SAP.
Cap Gemini Ernst & Young and SAPMarkets partner to help companies create comprehensive B2B exchange solutions
Management and IT consulting firm Cap Gemini Ernst & Young and SAPMarkets Inc., SAP AG's exchange company, have announced a partnership to help companies create comprehensive B2B exchanges using the MarketSet solution. The agreement makes Cap Gemini Ernst & Young a Most Valuable Partner in SAP's SAPMarkets Global Partner Program.
The marketing and consulting firm will develop a practice dedicated to the delivery of MarketSet-based solutions.
The two companies will market, develop business and deliver solutions jointly. They also will establish two comprehensive SAPMarkets Centers of Excellence in the United States and Europe. The centers will focus on solution demonstrations, client awareness and competency development.
MarketSet allows multiple businesses to collaborate with suppliers, partners and customers as if they were a single entity. The solution reduces many of the risks associated with building a marketplace by integrating complex application interfaces and new technologies and software.
Compaq AlphaServer ES40 maximizes information investment for SAP Users
Compaq Computer says its AlphaServer ES40 system has set a new performance record for mid-range servers in SAP Business Information Warehouse (SAP BW), a component of mySAP Business Intelligence (mySAP BI), Version 2.0 B benchmark.
An AlphaServer ES40 system with four 833 MHz Alpha processors using 8MB of memory and L2 cache, running Tru64 UNIX and Oracle 8i (release 8.1.6) database software delivered an average throughput of 25 million rows per hour for the load phase, more than 108 million rows per hour for the realignment step, and more than 46,000 query navigation steps per hour. The ES40 server was supported by a Compaq StorageWorks subsystem with 1.3 TB of disk space.
The benchmark has been audited and certified by SAP AG.
Compaq also holds the high-end SAP BW benchmark record.
