SAP launches e-business executive education program

SAP America Inc., the U.S. subsidiary of German software giant SAP AG, has launched an education series for executives. The program features an ongoing series of seminars and workshops led by academic and corporate leaders at the forefront of e-business research and education.

The SAP Executive Education program is the first offering from the SAP Institute for Innovation and Development located at SAP America headquarters in Newtown Square, Pa. The program is designed to help executives from current or prospective SAP customer companies learn how to assess their companies' e-business strategies to succeed.

The first session of the program features Mark Johnson, chief operating officer of Innosight, and Tom Dvenport, director of the Accenture Institute for Strategic Change, Distinguished Scholar in Residence at Babson College, and author of "Mission Critical: Realizing the Promise of Enterprise Systems." Also leading sessions in the inaugural program will be Louis A. Lefebvre, director of the Center of Expertise in Electronic Commerce at Ecole Polytechnique and past president of the International Association for the Management of Technology; and Stephen Gale, director of the Center for Organizational Dynamics at the University of Pennsylvania.

International specialty paper manufacturer P.H. Glatfelter has chosen mySAP.com as its e-business platform, according to SAP America Inc., the U.S. subsidiary of Germany-based SAP AG.

CSC awarded SAP Certified Hosting Partner Status

Computer Sciences Corp. (CSC) has been certified as a SAP Application Hosting Service Provider partner for the chemical industry. CSC is also SAP certified for the aerospace and defense industries and the federal government.

The CSC SAP Application Hosting offering is aimed at mid-market organizations (those with annual revenues of $200 million to 2.5 billion) and business units of larger organizations with similar revenue profiles.

Novient announces certification as a mySAP.com software partner

Novient Inc. says it has been certified as a mySAP Software Partner. The company offers service organizations a solution to track future projects and match resources to project requirements. Novient eServices gained interface certification for mySAP Workplace as a web application integration product. Ultimately, Novient will offer an interface to mySAP Human Resources & Projects.

Oracle hands Sybase customers a technology lifeline

Oracle Corp. has announced the SafeSwitch Program for Sybase, a data and application migration program for Sybase customers who wish to reduce their financial exposure and technology reliance on the Sybase database. To help customers migrate their data and applications, Oracle is offering a downloadable migration workbench kit for data migration as well as consulting services for application migration.

Companies that have already chosen to migrate from Sybase to the Oracle database include PaineWebber Inc., Raytheon Co. and Universal Studios.
