IT consulting firm Wipro to help reengineer its merchandising operations, a project that includes deploying the SAP Business Suite on HANA, Wipro recently announced.
The project is intended to make it easier for 7-Eleven Australia to launch new product categories, manage real-time promotions and incorporate other new business processes that are central to the company's retail operations.
Besides upgrading, migrating and consolidating 7-Eleven's IT applications and infrastructure, the project calls for Wipro to deploy the SAP Business Suite, running on the SAP HANA in-memory database platform, according to Wipro.
This is one of the first times SAP for Retail software has been deployed on HANA in the Asia Pacific region, the company also noted.
Amadeus brings SAP on board for new travel management features
Amadeus announced a partnership with SAP in which SAP Cloud for Travel and Expense will be included with Amadeus e-Travel Management, an online self-booking tool.
"This will enable Amadeus to offer an end-to-end service, from booking to expenses refunding; ultimately resulting in an enhanced customer experience, reduced travel management costs and consistency in policy compliance throughout the entire process and journey," Amadeus said in a statement.
Besides its software tailored to corporate transportation and expense management, Amadeus offers applications specifically for the transportation industry, including travel agencies, airlines, ground handlers, hotels, railways, car rental companies, airports, cruise lines and ferry operators.
BackOffice Associates taking on the SAP cloud
BackOffice Associates, a provider of data-migration and governance products and services, now offers consulting for SAP cloud applications, including SAP Business ByDesign and SuccessFactors software, the company announced in a statement.
"As part of [an] extended partnership [with SAP], BackOffice Associates will provide data migration and information governance services, through which customers can benefit from reduced time-to-value for the entire process as BackOffice Associates' solutions and experts take data off the critical path," the company said.
