Sapphire returns to Europe

Sapphire Europe is back on the calendar, slated for April 25-27 next year.

SAP spokesman Bill Wohl said the user conference is back by popular demand, after SAP experimented the last two years with smaller, regional Business Forums. Those forums were a response to customers who said they needed SAP information delivered in languages other than English.

Sapphire Europe was last held in 2002.

"We stopped doing Sapphire in Europe primarily at the request of our customers, as well as our sales organizations," Wohl said. "But one of the things that we heard from attendees is that they missed the all-encompassing aspects of Sapphire."

International customers told SAP they wanted more peer-to-peer networking and educational opportunities available at larger events.

The SearchSAP.com Conference in Chicago, Oct. 20-22. SAP America. Before that, SAP TechEd '04 San Diego starts October 5. That conference marks the end of SAP's 50-city NetWeaver tour announced last year and designed to educate SAP customers about the company's new integration platform.
