Chapter 1: Why analytics?

There is a critical gap between business analysts, who have the insights but little hands-on opportunity, and business users, who do the work but may lack the big picture perspective. The bridge between these worlds is a smart analytics solution, according to the authors of this book. The first chapter, "Why analytics?," starts off with an overview of challenges and opportunties of analytics, debates the business intelligence vs. business analytics issue and examines the benefits of SAP xApp analytics in real life.
