Scenario: ECC or R/3 being the lead system

SAP R/3 and SAP CRM customer master data are based on two different data models. That makes for some tricky mapping issues, but veteran CRM guru Srinivasa Katta has broken down the process into this easy step-by-step guide.

It is not possible to maintain 1:1 mapping between ECC or R/3 and CRM Roles while downloading the customers from ECC or an R/3 system to CRM. Account groups are mapped to the customer classification, which is BP Role CRM000. We could control the mapping between CRM and ECC or R/3 by entering the ECC or R/3 account group in CRM BP while creating it. This is not possible without modifications to R/3 Plug-In while downloading the customers from ECC to CRM.
