Maintain excluded functions
A Ship-to Party customer (Account Group 0002) will have roles Sold-to Party, Bill-to Party and Payer assigned in addition to Ship-to Party role. This causes using Ship-to Party customer as Sold-to also. This is a serious business process issue. SAP CRM has "Excluded functions" functionality in a business partner record. Ship-to Party customer could be prohibited being used as Sold-to Party by making Sold-to Party as an excluded partner function. Please find below the screenshot that shows the Excluded Functions functionality:

We excluded Sold-to Party Partner function for Ship-to Party customer 10233:

Now the CRM System gives an error message: "Partner & may not be used in Partner function Sold-to Party" if a Ship-to Party customer with Sold-to Party as an excluded partner function is used as Sold-to Party in a sales document

The above excluded function is a manual process. Please use OSS notes 608749, 417022 and other SAP notes for automatic exclusion of partner functions while downloading from ECC or R/3 to CRM.
