Since you have a lot of experience with FI-CO, I assume that you have the relevant background for planning and budgeting process (or consolidation process). To start with SEM, you should first build some basic skills on BW and then you can focus on the configuration of SEM components. You can either build skills on SEM-BPS (BPS is one of the SEM components and used mainly for planning and budgeting), or on SEM-BCS based consolidation (BCS is mainly used for financial consolidation).
