QUESTION POSED ON: 18 November 2003 After viewing your excellent presentation on 3rd party tools for BW, I am wondering if you will be updating it slightly to reflect the recent mergers amongst vendors (Business Objects < Crystal Decisions, Hyperion < BRIO, etc.) Thank you!

To best of my knowledge, I have not seen clear product roadmaps after their
BI vendors acquisitions/mergers. For now it's business as usual. In relation to
BW integration, each product - say Crystal and Business Objects - remain individual products. For example, Crystal still is an OEM for SAP BW
reporting, while Business Objects is a Certified product. When I see clear,
converged product strategies from these vendors, then I will update my 3rd
Party Tools for BW to also include new interfaces available in BW 3.5x. I am
planning to update this document around BWPortal 2004 conference in mid-March 2004.
