We are attempting to restrict the ability of users to view transactional
level detail within FI and CO for selected document types without impacting
the totals on summary reports. While we have been successfully in
restricting access to FI documents we have not been able to prevent users
from seeing the detail within CO regardless of what cost object they are
posted too. Is this possible to do? What have we missed? Thank you.

Since most of the ABAP around the transactional and the reporting authorize
against the same authoriztion objects, I would assume that it would be
significantly difficult to achieve this. But, if it is a must have... You
may try writing a user exit into your cost summary reports that has an auth
check against a custom auth object.. That will allow for the distintion
between transactional and summary.
