QUESTION POSED ON: 22 May 2002

I want to know what the JCo can do. Can it create an ABAP report in SAP, if all the code and parameters are provided?

>
EXPERT RESPONSE

JCo is a Java connector provided by SAP that gives the developer a series of API (class libraries) used to access the RFC/BAPI interfaces of an R/3 system. JCo itself provides no inherent ability to call ABAP reports in SAP. However, you can very quickly wrap an ABAP report as an RFC using SAP's Function Builder (trans se37). By RFC-enabling your ABAP, you can very easily call this report using JCo by passing in whatever parameters are necessary to run the report.
