I need info regarding the usage of IDocs over BDCs. What are the advantages?
Why should I not use BDCs? What's SAP's view of this?

BDCs are dependent on the detailed screen layouts. If those ever change (and they do!) then you have to change your application. Also, you need to submit all data in the proper screen sequence, which is not always easy. And, IDocs are Workflow-enabled, which is a big advantage should a problem
occur.
