QUESTION POSED ON: 15 July 2008 I am a PP consultant wanting to become an APO consultant. Is it advisable?
>
This is a logical move into a growing field. If you get an opportunity to move on to SCM (or APO) from PP, it would be worth exploring. The PP module ties in well with the PPDS (Production Planning and Detailed Scheduling) module of SAP SCM. The concepts are the same, but SCM provides you more tools and enhancements to do the planning and different ways to visualise them; SCM is also known to give the user a better user interface. Have a look a the help documents on Core Interface and also at the working of the Production Process Model, Production Data Structure and iPPE.
