QUESTION POSED ON: 21 April 2008
I need to integrate our SAP CRM 5.0 system to a backend R/3 system. So far CRM has been working as a standalone system with some transactions already posted in the system.

We have a single product defined in the CRM system for which categories and hierarchies exist. What are the possible problems that we can face if we try to do an initial download of products from R/3 to CRM now?

EXPERT RESPONSE
There should be no issues as R/3 product hierarchies R3PRODHIER R3PRODSTYP and R3MATCLASS will be created in CRM and all products of material type from R/3 will be created under those hierarchies. However, I advise to add the R3PRODHIER to all standalone CRM products of type material in addition to the CRM Product category under which it was originally created.
