QUESTION POSED ON: 29 October 2007
I want to refresh the SAP ABAP/Java system from PRD to QAS. In the past I have done the ABAP system refresh in which the Quality database was refreshed by that of Production and later we changed the SID from PRD to QAS.
I want to know if we need to copy the Java configuration file system and structure setting from the PRD system to the QAS system of Java.

We don't want to run any SAPINST to do the job since it is PRD.

EXPERT RESPONSE
To be honest, so far I always used SAPINST to do the job and it worked quite well. It even saves you time as you do not need to go through all the files changing the SID, hostname and probably the instance number.
