QUESTION POSED ON: 13 August 2007 I have a locally developed application and I need to interface the application with SAP (inbound/outbound) via the IDoc using JCo. Is it possible to develop a Java program that interfaces JCo in order to read and write to SAP using an IDoc? If yes, can you give me an example to help with this issue?

Yes, you can use JCo to send and receive IDoc messages. However, you will to obtain the SAP JCo IDoc libraries that are available from SAP Support Portal. Log onto the support portal, navigate to the SAP JCo section and download these zip files: "sapidoc-(version number).zip" and "sapidocjco-(version number).zip." These zip files contain the base JCo IDoc libraries as well as extensive documentation and tutorial Java code to get you going. You will also need the base SAP JCo connector available for download from the SAP Support Portal.
