QUESTION POSED ON: 22 July 2007 I recently learned SAP BW 3.5 and I am planning on taking the certification test soon. I have no experience in BW. Is certification worth it?
I was also wondering which module I should choose next: SD or CRM? Maybe an extra module can help me get my feet wet in the SAP market.

Adding another area to BW is never a bad idea, but remember that you want to solidify your BW skills first. BW is a pretty excellent focus in SAP and doesn't always need to be supplemented with other skills. Just remember that while many SAP companies are running BW 3.4, the real cutting edge version of BW is the BI 7.0 version that ships with NetWeaver 2004S. Until you get some skills under your belt in this version of BI, I would make that your focus. Once you have the latest BI experience, you can look to expand, and BW intersects with most areas of SAP now, so I'm not sure one area is necessarily better than the other. Both SD and CRM could be good "combos" to mix with BW. In these tiebreaker type situations, "go where the opportunities are" is often your best tactic.
