Can you explain custom cubes in data modeling to me? What is the difference between the ordinary InfoCubes and the custom cubes?

EXPERT RESPONSE
Basically there are two ways you can use/create infoproviders: One is within Business Content which is already created (all you do is activate them). The other way is to build custom infoproviders. With custom developments you have to create everything from scratch.
