QUESTION POSED ON: 17 May 2007
With an MBA in international business, I have come to know that there are opportunities in SAP. I do not have any domain experience, but people are suggesting SAP BW. Is this the right move?

>
EXPERT RESPONSE
Well, I don't think becoming an SAP expert is a bad move. But I think more and more employers will require domain expertise, and just being an expert in BW might not be enough. It would be better for you – and a future employer – if you could bring to BW or some other SAP functionality a decent, if not deep, knowledge of a particular industry and its business processes. More and more of what's happening in the SAP market requires this kind of expertise; just knowing the technology side isn't enough.
